It’s just a few more months until fall rolls around, which is—as you may know—prime mushroom season. I can’t wait!

It's pretty amazing that this never happened in the 7 (?) years we/you lived on First Street with all those uncared-for old trees and branches swinging precariously in the wind. Always sad to see a tree have to go, but sometimes you just gotta cut the sucker down. Glad you're safe now!

Thanks, Leah! We hope to reach the level that your father achieved. We ate some homegrown Hungarian hot wax peppers last night. My favorites!

And the tree? It's totally gone now. It looks great out back, and I'm happy to know that we have a responsive neighbor. Couldn't have ended in a better way.

congrats on the house! i'm loving that you guys have an edible garden. my father was an avid gardener when i was growing up - we pretty much ate all homegrown veggies at least 6 months out of the year. i'm a little jealous that you have a real yard and garden! living vicariously through you since have no outdoor space in my condo.

good luck with that tree! and... welcome to bloggersville.

Yikes. Though the initial cell phone pic you took is pretty epic too. It's a little disturbing to see just how much tree there is left, and that could still fall.
